The Post-graduate Institute for Accounting and Financial Studies at the University of Baghdad held its fourth international and sixth national scientific conference today at the Peace Theater in the College of Media, under the title “Digital Transformation in Iraq and the Middle East: Opportunities and Challenges.” The conference was attended by the Assistant President of the University for Administrative Affairs and Acting President of the University, Professor Dr. Raghad Abdul-Razzaq Al-Hashemi, and the Dean of the Post-graduate Institute for Accounting and Financial Studies, Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Mohammed Thajil Al-Maamouri, along with a number of academics, specialists, and students of the institute.<\/span><\/p>\n

The conference witnessed broad scientific participation, with the presentation of approximately 119 research papers from various sectors of the government and the private sector, in addition to the participation of researchers from nine countries. This reflects the importance of the conference as an international scientific platform for exchanging visions and experiences in the field of digital transformation. The conference aimed to highlight the prospects of digital transformation in Iraq and the Middle East, and to examine its impact on accounting and auditing systems, fiscal and monetary policy tools, as well as to analyze the economic transformations resulting from digitization processes and anticipate their repercussions on the business environment and decision-making.<\/span><\/p>\n

The conference also sought to provide an effective scientific platform for exchanging ideas and information, and to enhance cooperation between the public and private sectors and relevant academic institutions, thereby contributing to supporting institutional reform and development in light of the transition to a digital economy.<\/span><\/p>\n

The conference included several scientific themes, most notably: accounting, auditing, and financial and administrative sciences, in addition to an economic theme that addressed digital entrepreneurship, e-commerce, and the role of the digital economy in promoting sustainable development.<\/span><\/p>\n

The conference concluded with the distribution of awards for excellence and innovation to a number of supporting figures, and the awarding of participation certificates to the participating researchers, in recognition of their scientific efforts and research contributions. On the first day of the conference, researchers presented their papers on the auditing theme. The session was chaired by Professor Dr. Asaad Ghani Jihad, representative of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Director of Administrative and Financial Affairs at the Ministry, with Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Sami Hasaballah, a faculty member at the Institute, serving as rapporteur.<\/span><\/p>\n
