The Post-graduate Institute for Accounting and Financial Studies at the University of Baghdad, under the supervision of the Dean of the Institute, Chartered Accountant, Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Muhammad Thajil Al-Mamouri, held the curriculum for the third day of the Global Entrepreneurship Week on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, in the Institute’s hall at ten in the morning. The curriculum was attended by a group of professors, affiliates, and students Institute.

The title of the third curriculum was [the “Cooperation with the Entrepreneurial Business Sector” Program (Scientific and Research Cooperation)] to achieve scientific, academic and professional integration with professional institutions and the business sector in Iraq.

The third day’s curriculum was discussed by Professor Dr. Sabiha Barzan Farhoud, teaching in the Department of Accounting Studies at the Institute, and Professor Dr. Ali Abbas Karim, teaching in the Department of Financial Studies at the Institute.

The third day’s curriculum, presented by Professor Dr. Sabiha Barzan, addressed the concept of entrepreneurship in educational institutions, as well as the most important contributions that were made to entities inside Iraq, such as providing scientific consultations to ministries such as the Ministry of Oil in the field of training their members on how to apply international accounting and financial reporting standards in the oil sector. Over the coming years (2017-2023), as well as preparing economic feasibility studies to open branches of Rafidain Bank in a group of Baghdad regions and official authorities. Contributing to the evaluation of the research of the Journal of the Financial and Accounting Center in the Ministry of Finance, in addition to participating in the membership of the scientific committees of the conferences held there.

As for scientific contributions outside Iraq, Professor Dr. Sabiha Barzan Farhoud was chosen as a member of the editorial board of many foreign journals and a member to evaluate research published in a number of foreign journals, and to provide consultations in the field of evaluating books for a number of international publishing houses.

The curriculum of the third day was also addressed by Professor Dr. Ali Abbas Karim, explaining the means of scientific cooperation that took place between the Higher Institute for Accounting and Financial Studies at the University of Baghdad with the National Insurance Company and the Iraqi Insurance Company for the purpose of approaching them regarding the Institute’s desire to open a doctoral study in actuarial insurance and considering this project a basic pillar. To develop their members and reach the ranks of developed countries in the field of insurance, as this field has become the backbone of global economies and is comparable to any production sector in the financial returns that these countries obtain.

He explained the Insurance Bureau’s desire to embrace the idea and prepare courses in actuarial insurance.

A comparative study has also been prepared for the National and Iraqi Insurance companies for the period 2020 and 2021 in cooperation with the student Shahad Ramez in the Insurance Branch. The topic has been developed into research on the two companies that will be published in Scopus archives.

In addition to his numerous participation in a number of conferences inside and outside Iraq and his publication of a number of scientific research within international libraries.
