Under the supervision of the Dean of the Post-graduate Institute for Accounting and Financial Studies, Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Mohammed Thajil Al-Maamouri, a chartered accountant, the Post-graduate Institute held a workshop entitled “Preventive and Developmental Strategies to Reduce Illegal Migration” in the Institute’s hall. The workshop was presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Najlaa Sada Hassoun, Assistant Dean of the Post-graduate Institute for Accounting and Financial Studies, and Professor Dr. Mahmoud Khalil Khudair Al-Maamouri, a faculty member in the Accounting Studies Department at the Institute. A number of faculty members and staff from the Institute participated in the workshop.

The workshop highlighted the importance of reducing illegal migration to protect individuals from the dangers of trafficking, exploitation, and death, to maintain national security, to promote sustainable development, and to achieve economic and social stability.

These activities fall under the environmental and sustainability goals of Goal 11, which aims to make cities and human settlements safe, resilient, and sustainable, as well as Goal 16, which aims to promote healthy and inclusive societies for sustainable development.
