Chartered accountant Assistant Professor Dr. Najlaa Sada Hassoun, Assistant Dean of the Post-graduate Institute for Accounting and Financial Studies, and Dr. Haifa Yousef Suleiman, a faculty member at the Institute and Director of the Internal Control and Audit Department at the University of Baghdad, participated in a specialized workshop organized by the Internal Control and Audit Department at the University of Baghdad. The workshop, titled “Inventory and Reconciliation Mechanisms in Accordance with Financial Laws and Regulations,” covered several topics, including defining the annual inventory and its importance, explaining its implications within the Iraqi auditing environment, and reviewing the preliminary procedures necessary for completing financial transactions according to established legal frameworks.

The workshop also included a detailed explanation of the annual inventory procedures for warehouses and fixed assets, with a focus on reconciliation and documentation methods that contribute to preserving public funds and ensuring the integrity of financial records.

 This workshop achieves the Sustainable Development Goals represented in Goal (16) Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions as well as Goal (17) Partnerships for the Goals.
