The Department of Financial Studies the Post-graduate Institute for Accounting and Financial Studies at the University of Baghdad discussed the research titled (The effectiveness of the letters of guarantee platform in light of banking legislation and its reflection on the risks of letters of guarantee – applied research ) for the student Aseel Jamal Sobeih to obtain a higher diploma equivalent to a master’s degree in banking and grants its holder All rights and privileges of a master’s degree.
The study aimed demonstrate the importance of the electronic platform for letters of guarantee as a supervisory control that it witnessed to manage the process of issuing letters of guarantee and reduce fraud and manipulation in their capacity, as well as to identify the reasons that called for resorting to the use of the platform for letters of guarantee in the Iraqi banking environment.
The study concluded the development of the work of the platform and everything related to it in an electronic way and under the supervision and control of the bank to develop electronic control in a wider way and get rid of the balances of previous years without direct monitoring and accountability, and to create an additional field in the platform and develop it in broader areas by making the customer’s account linked to the platform to support inclusion operations Financially, by not disbursing the dues of the clients (the command) at the end of their completion of the projects directly (cash) or by means of a check, but the receivables of the client (the command) are transferred directly through the customer’s account opened in the bank issuing the letter bond.
