Assistant lecturer Uday Obaid Zaidan, head of the Quality Assurance and University Performance Unit at the Institute, participated in the training workshop, which was held in the Mahdi Hantoush Hall, College of Engineering at the University of Baghdad. It was about institutional accreditation and performance evaluation. The workshop was opened by Dr. Omar Faleh Hassan, Director of the Quality Assurance and University Performance Department, by presenting the university’s achievements in Shimaco classification, where the University of Baghdad achieved first place (QS) at the level of Iraqi universities, also referred to the evaluation obtained by the University of Baghdad, which is the highest evaluation among Iraqi universities.
Dr. Lama Hassan Alwan lectured at the workshop, where she reviewed the problems and obstacles facing the university in this field and how to overcome those obstacles to successfully complete accreditation files, while the third topic of the workshop was devoted to the performance evaluation file presented by Dr. Siham Kazem Nimr, and the completion rates for each formation were presented, in addition to updates for next year’s performance evaluation file.
The workshop aimed to enhance awareness of the importance of ensuring quality and reliability at the university, discuss challenges and solutions, develop plans for the future, as well as follow up on the implementation of work in the main and subcommittees, while setting a time limit for following up and implementing performance plans.
This workshop comes within the framework of the University of Baghdad’s endeavor to improve its performance in the field of quality assurance and accreditation to achieve programmatic and institutional accreditation, and to enhance its position at the national and global levels.
