Under the patronage of the Dean of the Post-graduate Institute for Accounting and Financial Studies, Chartered Accountant, Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Muhammad Thajil Al-Maamouri, the Institute’s Consulting Office held the first training course entitled (The Unified Accounting System According to International Accounting and Financial Reporting Standards) as part of the basic training courses for the General Company for Ports of Iraq, which was lectured by a group of the Institute’s instructors for the period from 5/1/2025 to 6/2/2025.
The participants learned about many topics, most notably investments and disclosure of shares in other establishments, mergers and unification of businesses, the effects of changes in foreign exchange rates, and the effects of changes in foreign exchange rates on the translation of financial statements and accounting policies, changes in accounting estimates and errors.
At the end of the course, the Dean of the Institute presented certificates of appreciation to the participants in the course and expressed the Institute’s readiness for scientific and professional cooperation to achieve maximum benefit from the available competencies in the General Company for Ports of Iraq.
