Under the patronage of the Dean of the Post-graduate Institute for Accounting and Financial Studies, chartered accountant Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Mohammed Thajil Al-Maamouri, the Institute held a workshop entitled “Combating Administrative and Financial Corruption and Establishing the Values ​​of Integrity.” The workshop took place in the Institute’s hall and was presented by Professor Dr. Mohammed Uloum Mohammed, a faculty member in the Department of Financial Studies, and Assistant Professor Dr. Khulood Hadi Aboud, also a faculty member in the Department of Financial Studies. A number of staff and faculty members from the Institute participated in the workshop.

The workshop addressed the necessity of strengthening internal control systems in institutions to ensure the early detection of cases of administrative and financial corruption and to limit their escalation. It also emphasized the importance of applying the principle of transparency and disclosure of financial and administrative operations to enhance institutional trust. Furthermore, the workshop stressed the need to disseminate a culture of integrity and professional ethics through continuous training programs targeting all employees. It also highlighted the necessity of expanding the use of electronic systems and digital governance, enhancing performance efficiency, and activating the principle of accountability without exception to ensure workplace justice and deter illegal practices. This workshop fulfills Sustainable Development Goal 16, which focuses on building strong and effective institutions based on transparency and accountability, and reducing corruption in all its forms, which contributes to achieving an institutional environment that supports sustainable development.
