Under the supervision of the Dean of the Post-graduate Institute for Accounting and Financial Studies, Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Mohammed Thajil Al-Maamouri, the Institute’s Continuing Education Unit held a workshop entitled “The Oversight Role of the Federal Board of Supreme Audit in Combating Financial and Administrative Corruption and Addressing its Effects.” The workshop took place in the Institute’s hall and was moderated by Lecturer Dr. Ghazi Maan Faisal, Editor-in-Chief of the Institute’s Journal of Accounting and Financial Studies. Dr. Ibrahim Sader Hamdan, Assistant Director General of the Federal Board of Supreme Audit, presented at the workshop, which was attended by a number of faculty members and postgraduate students.
The workshop highlighted the importance of monitoring cases of waste, mismanagement, and deviations from legal frameworks, as well as uncovering financial irregularities. It also emphasized the importance of strengthening and intensifying cooperation with oversight institutions to raise awareness of the applicable oversight procedures.
These activities are classified within the Environment and Sustainability Goals in achieving Goal (16) to ensure the promotion of healthy and inclusive societies for sustainable development, providing access to justice for all and building effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels.
