The Department of Financial Studies the Post-graduate Institute for Accounting and Financial Studies at the University of Baghdad discussed the research titled (The Impact of Electronic Payment Instruments on Monetary Credit / Applied research ) for the student Sadeq sabah owdah to obtain a higher diploma equivalent to a master’s degree in banks and grants its holder All rights and privileges of a master’s degree.

This study aimed to identify and measure the role of electronic payment methods in the volume of cash credit within the Iraqi banking sector. It stemmed from the question: To what extent can electronic payment methods contribute to increasing or decreasing the volume of cash credit? The study was based on the hypothesis that there is a statistically significant positive impact between electronic payment methods and cash credit.

The study concluded that the Central Bank of Iraq has been striving to support electronic payments since 2006 due to their role in developing the financial and banking sector, keeping pace with global developments, and enhancing banks’ ability to extend credit.
