Under the supervision of the Dean of the Post-graduate Institute for Accounting and Financial Studies, chartered accountant Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Mohammed Thajil Al-Maamouri, the Post-graduate Institute held a workshop entitled “Leave Regulations for State and Public Sector Employees According to Civil Service Law No. (24) of 1960.” The workshop took place in the Institute’s hall and was presented by Professor Dr. Mahmoud Khalil Khader Al-Maamouri, a faculty member in the Accounting Studies Department. A number of employees and faculty members from the Institute participated.
The workshop aimed to emphasize that employees’ rights, including their leave entitlements, are acquired rights that cannot be waived under any circumstances. It also highlighted that employees are entitled to a range of leaves stipulated in various laws, subject to specific time limits, within which any employee may request them. Furthermore, the workshop stressed the necessity of granting employees these leaves, in all their various forms, regardless of their length of service in the public sector, i.e., as soon as an administrative decision is issued appointing them to their grade and position.
