The Dean of the Post-graduate Institute for Accounting and Financial Studies at the University of Baghdad, certified public accountant Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Mohammed Thajil Al-Maamouri, welcomed a delegation from the General Company for Iraqi Ports. The delegation included Mr. Ahmed Khalaf Thajil, Director of the Commercial Department; Mr. Wissam Sabah Nasser from the Internal Audit and Control Department; Mr. Abdul Karim Khalaf Zayer from the Internal Audit and Control Department; Mr. Hazem Jaber Habib from the Financial Affairs Department; and Mr. Sajjad Katea Abdul Zahra from the Financial Affairs Department.
During the meeting, they discussed mechanisms for scientific and professional cooperation between the Institute and the Company. This cooperation aims to contribute to the development of accounting, financial, and administrative aspects, enhance integration between academic institutions and the government sector, and facilitate the exchange of expertise in the fields of auditing, financial control, and financial and administrative planning.
The Dean of the Institute emphasized the importance of engaging with reputable state institutions, including the General Company for Iraqi Ports, given its strategic role in supporting the national economy. He noted the Institute’s commitment to building effective partnerships that contribute to developing specialized personnel with the scientific and practical expertise required by the labor market.
For their part, the company’s delegation expressed their appreciation for the academic and scientific role played by the Post-graduate Institute for Accounting and Financial Studies, affirming their desire to strengthen cooperation in training, development, and the establishment of workshops and specialized programs that serve to enhance staffing and improve institutional performance.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties stressed the importance of continued communication and coordination to achieve scientific and professional goals, support institutional development, and serve the public interest.
