The Department of Financial Studies the Post-graduate Institute for Accounting and Financial Studies at the University of Baghdad discussed the research titled (The Impact of the Classification System Variables (CAMEL) on Performance Indicators of the Iraq Stock Exchange-Applied Research) for the student Yasmin Ahmed Hamid to obtain a higher diploma equivalent to a master’s degree in banks and grants its holder All rights and privileges of a master’s degree.
The study aimed to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the banks studied, and then evaluate them according to the CAMEL banking rating system, with its components (capital adequacy, asset quality, management efficiency, profitability, and liquidity). It also measured and analyzed the extent to which the CAMEL rating system contributed to raising or lowering stock market indicators.
The study concluded that the CAMEL rating system had a significant impact on the stock market indicators of the banks studied. The dimensions of the CAMEL rating system were able to explain the changes and deviations in the stock market indicators of the banks studied.
