The Department of Accounting Studies at the Post-graduate Institute for Accounting and Financial Studies at the University of Baghdad held an in-person scientific symposium in the institute’s hall entitled (Concentrated Energy Technology in Reducing Costs) and under the supervision of the Dean of the Institute, Chartered Accountant, Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Muhammad Thajil Al-Mamouri. During the symposium, working papers were presented by the lecturers ( Dr. Imad Jalil Mahdi from the Ministry of Science and Technology and Professor Dr. Thaer Sabri Al-Ghabban, teaching from the Department of Accounting Studies at the Institute), and a number of professors, associates and students of the Institute participated in the symposium.
The symposium indicated that the goal of using concentrated solar energy technology is to move to environmentally friendly energy and provide it to support fossil fuel stations, which affects production costs and reduces tariffs on energy consumption, as well as reducing the cost of environmental pollution and global warming.
The symposium reached several recommendations, the most important of which is generalizing the cost study of concentrated solar power plants to the rest of the other northern and southern regions of Iraq in addition to the central region, and the cost study of the technology of other solar plants in addition to the concentrated trough solar energy technology and its economic feasibility and the possibility of implementing it in Iraq.
