Under the supervision of the Dean of the Post-graduate Institute for Accounting and Financial Studies, Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Mohammed Thajil Al-Maamouri, a certified public accountant, the Higher Institute held a workshop entitled “From Extremist Ideology to Terrorism: Prevention and Countermeasures” in the Institute’s hall. The workshop was presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Khulood Hadi Aboud, a faculty member in the Department of Financial Studies at the Institute. A number of faculty members and postgraduate students from the Institute participated in the workshop.

The workshop focused on adopting a flexible and innovative approach that integrates technology with human and social values to confront these complex phenomena represented by extremism and terrorism in all its forms. It also aimed to develop strategies capable of adapting to global environmental changes and building strong, tolerant, and resilient societies that can reject extremist ideologies and protect individuals from falling prey to extremism and terrorism.

These activities fall under the environmental and sustainability goals of achieving Goal (16), which aims to ensure peace, justice, and strong institutions for all in society.
