The Women’s Empowerment Committee at the Post-graduate Institute for Accounting and Financial Studies at the University of Baghdad held a workshop in the institute’s hall entitled (The phenomenon of harassment and its impact on society) and under the supervision of the Dean of the Institute, the Chartered Accountant, Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Muhammad Thajil Al-Mamouri, delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Kholoud Hadi Abboud, Chairman of the Women’s Empowerment Committee, and attended The workshop was attended by a number of professors, associates and students of the institute.

The workshop showed that harassment is aggressive behavior that is contrary to the values of religion and humanity, and requires decisive and deterrent treatment in order to establish a virtuous society in which the values of chastity and purity prevail, and a society that avoids moral vices and wrong behaviors that harm the individual and society alike.

The workshop came up with a set of recommendations, the most important of which are the need to raise awareness and activate laws to deter harassers, whether in real life or virtual electronic reality, and the need for educational and media institutions to join forces to play an awareness-raising role that warns of the harms and dangers of this phenomenon, limits it, confronts it, and confronts the reasons for its existence, with reference to the importance of the family, which is The nucleus of society, its foundation and its educational role, to raise its children in chastity and chivalry, and to follow them and observe their behavior and actions.
