The Department of Accounting Studies at the Post-graduate Institute for Accounting and Financial Studies at the University of Baghdad discussed the research titled(Analysis of service and production contract costs according to the requirements of the Sustainability Accounting Standards (SASB) and its reflection on production costs – applied research ) for the student Basem Akrez Rashid to obtain Cost and Managerial Accounting certificate, which is the highest professional certificate in the field of specialization, and its holder enjoys all the rights and privileges of a doctorate degree.
The study aimed to clarify the importance of adopting the sustainability accounting standard as a tool for analyzing service and production contracts and its impact on production costs by analyzing the data of the Central Oil Company according to the sustainability accounting standards, the standards of extractive materials and mineral processing (oil and gas – exploration and production). The study concluded that sustainability accounting standards are used to measure the company’s costs in order to reduce costs, prevent the combustion of gases associated with the crude oil extraction process due to its economic and environmental importance, and adhere to local and international laws and regulations to reduce pollution and global warming These activities are classified within the environmental and sustainability goals to achieve Goal (7) in ensuring access to clean, affordable, reliable and sustainable energy for all.
