The Dean of the Post-graduate Institute for Accounting and Financial Studies at the University of Baghdad chartered accountant, Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Mohammed Thajil Al-Maamouri, Welcomed the Institutional Accreditation Standards Committee of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. This visit was part of the ongoing monitoring of the implementation of institutional accreditation standards and an assessment of the level of compliance.
The visit aimed to evaluate the Institute’s adherence to the approved standards and to review the organizational, administrative, and academic procedures to ensure their alignment with the policies of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and quality assurance requirements.
The visit also aimed to assess the Institute’s compliance with these standards. The meeting with the Dean of the Institute included discussions on several important aspects, including matters related to scientific research and publication in international databases such as Scopus, and how to select reputable and indexed journals. The meeting also addressed the scientific activities organized by the Institute concerning scientific publishing and the professional development training courses offered to faculty and staff. Various inquiries were answered, and emphasis was placed on aspects that would enhance the quality of institutional performance, particularly those related to organizational, administrative, and scientific matters. The discussion also covered the extent to which the policies and procedures adopted by the Institute align with the requirements and standards of institutional accreditation, thereby contributing to raising the academic level and achieving comprehensive quality.
