Under the supervision of the Dean of the Post-graduate Institute for Accounting and Financial Studies, Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Mohammed Thajil Al-Maamouri, the Post-graduate Institute for Accounting and Financial Studies held a workshop entitled “IFRS S1 and IFRS S2 Standards and Their Impact on Auditing Procedures” in the Institute’s hall. The workshop was presented by Professor Dr. Sabiha Barzan Farhoud, a faculty member in the Accounting Studies Department at the Institute, and was attended by a number of staff and faculty members.
The workshop highlighted the standardization of how companies disclose financially relevant sustainability information. IFRS S1 sets out the general requirements for disclosing all risks and opportunities related to sustainability, while IFRS S2 focuses specifically on climate-related disclosures, including physical climate risks and opportunities, scenario analysis requirements, climate-related performance measurements, and International Financial Reporting Standard S1 (General Requirements for Disclosing Financial Information Relating to Sustainability).
