At the kind invitation of the Dean of the College of Excellence, Professor Dr. Ali Hussein Ali Al-Tamimi, the College of Excellence received a delegation from the University of Baghdad – Post-graduate Institute for Accounting and Financial Studies, headed by the chartered Accountant, Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Mohammed Thajil Al-Maamouri, Dean of the Post-graduate Institute for Accounting and Financial Studies. The College of Excellence hosted the Head of the Federal Board of Supreme Audit, Dr. Ammar Subhi Khalaf, for a lecture that addressed the current state of the job market and its future prospects, highlighting the rapid transformations in the field of accounting and the requirements of the next phase.
The lecture was attended by the Assistant President of the University of Baghdad for Administrative Affairs and Acting President of the University, Professor Dr. Raghad Abdul-Razzaq Al-Hashemi, the Dean of the College of Excellence, Professor Dr. Ali Hussein Ali, the Dean of the College of Artificial Intelligence, Professor Dr. Diaa Jassim Kadhim, as well as a number of department heads, faculty members, and students. The lecture addressed the nature of the changes occurring in the labor market and the impact of technological advancements and the application of governance and transparency in reshaping the accounting and banking professions. It also outlined the essential skills that students and graduates should possess to ensure competitive employment opportunities and keep pace with modern professional standards.
The head of the Audit Bureau emphasized that the Bureau is a fundamental link in the chain of state institutions and plays a pivotal role in supporting institutional work and promoting integrity and effective oversight. This positively impacts the efficiency of financial and administrative performance in state institutions. He noted that the future belongs to the field of accounting due to its increasing demand in the labor market.
This activity contributes to achieving the eighth Sustainable Development Goal: decent work and economic growth.
