The Department of Accounting Studies at the Post-graduate Institute for Accounting and Financial Studies at the University of Baghdad discussed the research titled(Using solar thermal technology to reduce the costs of drying agricultural crops and enhance the dimensions of competitive advantage) for the student  Safaa Neamah Shadhan to obtain Cost and Managerial Accounting  certificate, which is the highest professional certificate in the field of specialization, and its holder enjoys all the rights and privileges of a doctorate degree.

The study aimed to apply solar thermal energy technology as a crucial strategic tool to improve decision-making processes by comparing the traditional fossil fuel-based drying system used by the General Company with solar-powered drying. This comparison focused on enhancing sustainability, increasing operational efficiency, and reducing costs.

The study concluded that adopting solar thermal energy technology is essential to address current operational challenges. This technology improves operational efficiency, reduces reliance on traditional energy sources, lowers costs, enhances the quality of drying processes, and positively impacts the company’s overall performance. Furthermore, it strengthens the company’s competitiveness in the agricultural sector, ensures transparency, and improves oversight of drying operations, ultimately leading to higher service quality compared to traditional alternatives.
