Under the patronage of the Dean of the Post-graduate Institute for Accounting and Financial Studies, Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Mohammed Thajil Al-Maamouri, the Institute held a workshop entitled “Financing Economic Projects and Entering the Job Market, Accessing Financial Services, and Guiding Graduating Female Students on Entering the Private Sector in Various Fields.” The workshop took place in the Institute’s hall and was presented by Dr. Lawahiz Khalil Ibrahim, a lecturer in the Department of Financial Studies at the Institute. A number of staff and faculty members from the Institute participated.

The workshop addressed the necessity of building a generation of creative young women who possess the confidence to transform their simple ideas into fruitful projects, and to understand that money is a means to achieve dreams and serve the community. It also aimed to boost self-confidence by empowering students to feel capable of thinking of their own projects, no matter how simple, and to differentiate between needs and wants in order to understand how to allocate project budgets and the concept of “project funds.” Financing was defined as “collecting resources,” whether from personal savings, family support, or partnerships with peers.

This workshop fulfills Goal (4) of the Sustainable Development Goals to ensure that everyone has access to inclusive, equitable and high-quality education and to promote lifelong learning opportunities.
