The Institute seeks to achieve its goals of community service and implement sustainable development goals.
The Department of Accounting Studies at the Post-graduate Institute for Accounting and Financial Studies at the University of Baghdad, under the supervision of the Dean of the Institute, Chartered Accountant, Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Muhammad Thajil Al-Mamouri, held a scientific symposium entitled (The relationship of financial transformation to the success of the experience of small and medium-sized enterprises) in the Institute’s hall, and it was delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Wafa Hussein Salman, Associate Professor. Dean of the Institute, and the symposium was attended by a number of professors, associates and students of the Institute.
Among its objectives, the symposium indicated identifying the importance of small and medium-sized projects and their impact in raising the family’s standard of living, and highlighting the state’s interest and support for these projects by granting loans and preparing work requirements for families displaced during the events of ISIS, and in line with the sustainable development goals, which are (the first goal). Poverty eradication, Goal 8, Decent Work and Economic Growth, and Goal 11, Sustainable Cities and Communities).
The symposium concluded that it is necessary to address the topic of small and medium-sized enterprises in students’ research, especially since it can be addressed in the field of management and accounting.
