Under the supervision of the Dean of the Post-graduate Institute for Accounting and Financial Studies at the University of Baghdad, the Chartered Accountant, Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Muhammad Thajil Al-Mamouri, the Continuing Education Unit at the Institute held the symposium entitled (Using Technology in Education Globally and Locally: Challenges and Opportunities), as the symposium was moderated by Assistant Professor Dr. Mahmoud Ismail Muhammad, the lecturer in the Department of Accounting Studies, and the lecturer at the symposium were Assistant Professor Dr. Dhifaf Ibrahim Ali, the lecturer in the Department of Accounting Studies at the Institute, and the lecturer Dr. Amer Muhammad Mahdi from the Department of Quality Assurance and University Performance at the Presidency of the University of Baghdad. The Assistant Dean of the Institute, Assistant Professor Dr. Wafaa Hussein Salman, and a number of lecturers attended the symposium. Professors, associates and postgraduate students at the institute.
The symposium highlighted the importance of understanding technological progress in education by reviewing technological development historically, from mechanical innovations to modern digital technologies, while highlighting the major changes that have occurred in educational tools and methodologies over the decades.
The symposium concluded by reviewing current technological trends, the most prominent of which is the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in enhancing educational experiences, while highlighting the integration of artificial intelligence and advanced technologies such as virtual reality (VR) in education.
