The Post graduate Institute for Accounting and Financial Studies at the University of Baghdad held the first day of the opening of its third international and fifth national conference at Al-Salam Theater in the College of media, in the presence of Professor Dr. Bahaa Ibrahim Ansaf, President of the University of Baghdad, Assistant to the University President for Administrative Affairs, Dr. Amir Faisal Abdel Amir, and the Head of the Federal Financial Supervision Bureau, the Chartered Accountant, Ammar Subhi. Khalaf, the chartered accountant, Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Muhammad Thajil Al-Mamouri, Dean of the Post – graduate Institute for Accounting and Financial Studies and Advisor to the Prime Minister for Financial Affairs, Professor Dr. Mazhar Muhammad Saleh, the Chartered Accountant Dr. Salah Nouri Khalaf, Dean of the Arab Institute, Dean of the Certified Institute of Internal Auditors, and the General Directors of the Central Bank of Iraq and the Federal Financial Supervision Bureau.
The conference was held under the title (Reforming the Iraqi Economy: Challenges of the Present and Visions of the Future) to discuss the challenges facing the Iraqi economy at the present time, present future visions for its reform, exchange experiences between researchers and specialists in the field of economics, and encourage scientific research.
The conference also discussed the role of the private sector in reforming the Iraqi economy, the role of the government in reforming it, the importance of education and training in reforming the economy, and the role of financial institutions and foreign investment in it.
The conference included scientific sessions to discuss the conference topics, specialized workshops, and presentations of scientific research. It is noteworthy that the conference will continue for two days, and the second day of the conference will be in a hall at the institute.
