The Department of Accounting Studies at the Post-graduate Institute for Accounting and Financial Studies at the University of Baghdad discussed the research titled(Accounting measurement in agricultural activity according to international financial reporting standards and its impact on auditing procedures – applied research) for the student Mustafa younis Hameed to obtain chartered accountant certificate, which is the highest professional certificate in the field of specialization, and its holder enjoys all the rights and privileges of a doctorate degree.
The study aimed to to determine the adequacy of the current financial statements of Iraqi agricultural companies to the needs of users of appropriate accounting information and a faithful representation of events and circumstances in making their economic decisions, by analyzing and presenting the extent of the local environment’s potential to adopt and apply international financial reporting standards in light of the trend the world is witnessing towards implementing These standards are considered standards that express cases and experiences that have appeared on the ground.
The study reached that the unified accounting system suffers from a deficiency in not responding to recent developments that have occurred in the reality of accounting work at the international level and have affected its financial reporting model as a result of environmental changes (economic, social, Political), as well as the difference in methods of measurement and disclosure in the unified accounting system and local accounting rules significantly from international financial reporting standards, was reflected in the appropriateness and truthfulness of the representation of information and thus in the decisions of users.
