The University of Baghdad organized a stand in support and solidarity with the demonstrators supporting Palestine in American and European universities, in which the President of the University of Baghdad, Professor Dr. Bahaa Ibrahim Ensaf, the Assistant President of the University of Baghdad for Scientific Affairs, Professor Dr. Suhail Najm Abdullah, and the Dean of the Post-graduate Institute of Accounting and Financial Studies, the Chartered Accountant, Assistant Professor Dr. Ali, participated. Muhammad Thajil Al-Mamouri and a number of deans, teachers, employees and students from various formations of the University of Baghdad, including colleges, institutes and research centers.
The participants in the protest expressed their full solidarity with the students of European and American universities, demanding the need to stop the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, which has continued since October 7 of last year, with an emphasis on lifting the injustice against the Palestinian people who demand their right to an independent state.
The vigil included a speech by the President of the University of Baghdad, Professor Dr. Bahaa Ibrahim Ensaf, which carried a message of support and solidarity with the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, noting that the Iraqi people share moments of pain with the people of Gaza who are under Israeli aggression bombardment.
The protest also included raising pictures of martyrs and pictures of massacres of children and civilians who died as a result of brutal bombing, as well as raising slogans denouncing the silence of human rights organizations and foreign governments regarding these bloody massacres that destroy the lives of defenseless civilians in the Gaza Strip.
