The Rehabilitation and Employment Unit at the Center for Urban and Regional Planning for Postgraduate Studies at the University of Baghdad organized a scientific workshop entitled “Principles of Accounting and Bookkeeping,” in which two lecturers from the Post-graduate Institute of Accounting and Financial Studies, lecturer Dr. Donia Jalil Jaafar, head of the Fund Unit, and assistant lecturer Heba Mahmoud Muhammad Saeed, attended, in the presence of the Dean of the Urban Planning Center. And the regional professor, Dr. Karim Hassan Alwan, the dean of the Post-graduate Institute for Accounting and Financial Studies, the chartered accountant, the assistant professor, Dr. Ali Muhammad Thajil Al-Maamouri, the assistant dean, the assistant professor, Dr. Wafaa Abdel Amir, and the lecturer, Dr. Ghazi Maan Faisal, the managing editor of the Journal of Accounting and Financial Studies. A number of the center’s employees participated in the training workshop.
The workshop aimed to introduce the principles of accounting, its importance, objectives, and role in commercial activities. The workshop also touched on the benefits and types of financial accounting, while the practical side of the workshop dealt with the bookkeeping group in the accounting system.
