The Akkad Center for Economic and Financial Studies, in cooperation with the Post-graduate Institute for Accounting and Financial Studies, held a workshop entitled (Foundations of Academic Writing and Scientific Publishing in Discreet Global Fields), which was held in the hall of the Empowerment Center for Learning Services. Professor Dr. Aqeel Hamza Al-Hasnawi from the University of Kufa, College of Administration and Economics, lectured at the workshop. In the presence of the Dean of the Post-graduate Institute for Accounting and Financial Studies, Chartered Accountant, Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Muhammad Thajil Al-Mamouri, with the participation of a number of graduate students at the Institute and employees of the Center.
The workshop aimed to introduce the structure of scientific research, the methodology of scientific research, and academic writing skills for non-English speakers, and the use of modern software to improve writing skills in English, techniques for avoiding plagiarism, citation methods in the research body, and electronic techniques for rephrasing texts using (Quill Bot).
The workshop concluded with the idea of research and the research gap, techniques for reaching the research gap and determining the researcher’s contribution Ways to avoid predatory and hijacked journals and choose the appropriate journal for the research topic.
