Under the supervision of the Dean of the Post-grduate Institute of Accounting and Financial Studies, Chartered Accountant Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Muhammad Thajil Al-Maamouri, the Educational Guidance Committee at the Institute held a workshop entitled (Human Trafficking: Challenges and Solutions in a Changing World) in the Institute Hall. The workshop was managed and lectured by Assistant Lecturer Enas Jumaa Radhi, Head of the Legal Division at the Institute. A number of instructors and graduate students at the Institute participated in the workshop.

The workshop aimed to explore the relationship between corruption and organized crime and how corruption enhances the ability of gangs and criminal groups to expand, discussing how educational and community programs can contribute to preventing organized crime, especially in areas most vulnerable to these activities.

The workshop concluded that it is important to link organized crime and human trafficking, as it represents a multidimensional threat to social, economic and environmental stability. Therefore, sustainable development goals can only be achieved by strengthening institutions, enhancing transparency and achieving international cooperation. These activities are classified within the environmental and sustainability goals to achieve Goal (16) in peace, justice and strong institutions and the role of transparency and accountability in combating corruption and organized crime.
