Under the supervision of the Dean of the Post-graduate Institute for Accounting and Financial Studies, Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Mohammed Thajil Al-Maamouri, a certified public accountant, the Institute held a workshop entitled “Combating Suicide and Addressing Psychological Aspects” in the Institute’s hall. The workshop was presented by Professor Dr. Mohammed Uloum Mohammed, a faculty member in the Department of Financial Studies, and Assistant Professor Dr. Khulood Hadi Aboud, also a faculty member in the Department of Financial Studies. A number of staff members, faculty members, and postgraduate students from the Institute participated in the workshop.

The workshop focused on suicide as a complex human and societal issue intertwined with psychological, social, economic, and cultural factors. It emphasized the importance of early prevention and promoting mental health as a fundamental pillar for protecting the individual and society.

These activities fall under the environmental and sustainability goals of achieving Goal (11), which aims to ensure that cities and human settlements are inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable.
