The Dean of the Post Graduate Institute for Accounting and Financial Studies at the University of Baghdad, Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Mohammed Thajeel Al-Maamouri—a chartered accountant—received the Prime Minister’s Advisor for Youth Affairs, Dr. Qasim Al-Dhalimi, along with his accompanying delegation, at the Institute’s headquarters.
During the meeting—attended by several of the Institute’s faculty members and staff—discussions focused on mechanisms for joint cooperation to implement the “Financial Generation” (Jeel Mali) national initiative, which aims to foster financial literacy and empowerment among youth. The first phase of this initiative is set to launch in Baghdad, in collaboration with the University of Baghdad and various other universities. The discussion also highlighted the role that academic and professional institutions play in developing the financial and banking skills of young people.
Following the meeting, the Prime Minister’s Advisor, accompanied by the Dean of the Institute, toured the facility’s premises and departments. The visit provided an opportunity to examine the Institute’s infrastructure, training programs, and academic capabilities, all of which contribute to the development and qualification of the national workforce.
This activity contributes to several Sustainable Development Goals, namely Goal 4 (Quality Education), Goal 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
