Under the patronage of the Dean of the Post-graduate Institute for Accounting and Financial Studies, chartered accountant Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Mohammed Thajil Al-Maamouri, the Institute’s Consulting Office, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Unit, held a training course entitled “Internal Auditing and Control” from February 15th to 19th, 2026. The course was presented by lecturer Dr. Hisham Dawood Salman, Head of the Internal Auditing and Control Division at the Institute. This initiative aimed to develop skills and provide expertise and knowledge to employees across the University of Baghdad’s various departments in the application of International Accounting Standards. The course was held in the Institute’s hall at the University of Baghdad.
The course covered several topics, including an overview of internal audit mechanisms for budget accounts and education fund accounts, the laws, regulations, and controls governing internal auditing, and the updated structure of the fund’s accounts. Discussions and communication were encouraged throughout the course, fostering ongoing and future cooperation between the auditing divisions and units in the university’s colleges and institutes. At the end of the course, the participants took a test, and the Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Mohammed Thajil Al-Maamouri, Dean of the Post-graduate Institute for Accounting and Financial Studies, presented them with certificates of appreciation, stressing the need to organize such courses continuously, as well as the Institute’s readiness to continue scientific and professional cooperation in a way that contributes to developing the competencies of employees and achieving the best benefit from the experiences of the Institute’s Consulting Office in providing training courses to various state institutions.
