Under the supervision of the Dean of the Post-graduate Institute of Accounting and Financial Studies, Chartered Accountant Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Muhammad Thajil Al-Maamouri, the Department of Financial Studies at the Institute held a scientific symposium entitled (The Role of Islamic Banks in Financing and Investment) in the Institute Hall. The symposium was moderated by Lecturer Ali Abdul Adheem Baqer, Head of the Scientific Affairs Unit at the Institute. Professor Dr. Sadiq Rashid Al-Shammari, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al-Nasik Islamic Bank, lectured at the symposium. A number of lecturers and graduate students at the Institute participated in the symposium.
The symposium aimed to identify the challenges facing the work of Islamic banks and the opportunities that can be invested to overcome these challenges and to explain the activity of Islamic banks, their benefits and the gains they achieve compared to their counterparts in traditional banks.
The symposium reached how to employ and invest resources and direct them to achieve social justice and maintain social balance among the general community and to identify the laws to which Islamic banks are subject.
