Under the supervision of the Dean of the Post-graduate Institute of Accounting and Financial Studies, Chartered Accountant Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Muhammad Thajil Al-Maamouri, the Institute’s Continuing Education Unit is holding a workshop entitled “Critical Thinking and Innovative Creativity Under Iraqi Legal Protection” in the Institute’s auditorium. The workshop was delivered by Professor Dr. Baidaa Sattar Lafta, a lecturer in the Department of Financial Studies, and Assistant Professor Enas Jumaa Radhi, Head of the Legal Division at the Institute. A number of faculty members and graduate students from the Institute participated in the workshop.
The workshop highlighted the concept of critical thinking, its academic and societal dimensions, the role of innovative creativity in developing scientific research and entrepreneurship, mechanisms for the legal protection of ideas and innovations in Iraqi legislation, and the legal and intellectual challenges facing innovators in Iraq.
The workshop concluded with a rich discussion and valuable contributions from the attendees, expressing a growing awareness of the importance of promoting critical thinking and the need to update legislation to ensure the protection of national creativity. These activities are classified as environmental and sustainability goals to achieve Goal (4) of ensuring that everyone has access to comprehensive and equitable education of high quality and enhancing lifelong learning opportunities for all.
