The University of Baghdad held its 68th graduation ceremony, themed “Excellence and Innovation,” in the presence of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi; the President of the University of Baghdad, Professor Dr. Bahaa Ibrahim Insaf; the Vice President for Administrative Affairs, Professor Dr. Raghad Abdul-Razzaq Al-Hashemi; the Vice President for Scientific Affairs, Professor Dr. Suhail Najm Abdullah; the Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Mohammed Thajil Al-Maamouri, Dean of the Post-graduate Institute for Accounting and Financial Studies; along with deans of colleges and institutes, directors of centers within the University of Baghdad, as well as professors, officials, and the families of the graduating students.
The ceremony witnessed the start of the graduates’ academic procession, who adorned the square in their gowns and carried their graduation banners. The event was a moment where feelings of pride mingled with the fruits of years of hard work and dedication. Official speeches were delivered highlighting the pioneering role of the University of Baghdad as the nation’s flagship institution, which has provided the country with scientific and professional talent that has had a significant impact on building the institutions of the state and society.
The ceremony concluded with the Minister of Higher Education honoring the top students from both the morning and evening programs. The celebratory atmosphere brought joy to the graduates and their families, reflecting a deep sense of belonging to this prestigious academic institution, which remains a steadfast beacon of science and knowledge in Iraq.
This activity contributes to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, specifically Goal 4, which calls for quality education, as well as Goal 17, which focuses on partnerships for achieving the goals.
