Under the supervision of the Dean of the Post-graduate Institute of Accounting and Financial Studies, Chartered Accountant Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Mohammed Thajeel Al-Maamouri, the Institute’s Department of Financial Studies is holding a workshop entitled “Materiality and Detection Risk” in the Institute’s auditorium. The workshop was moderated and lectured by Assistant Professor Dr. Wafaa Hussein Salman Al-Haidari, Assistant Dean of the Post-graduate Institute of Accounting and Financial Studies. A number of faculty members and graduate students from the Institute participated in the workshop.
The workshop highlighted the importance of the audit process and the role of the external auditor in examining and reviewing financial statements, the presence of errors and violations and the auditor’s ability to detect them, and the relationship between materiality and detection risk.
These activities are classified within the environmental and sustainability objectives to achieve Goal (4) of ensuring education for all and promoting lifelong learning opportunities for all.
