Within the framework of supporting sound scientific research, enhancing our international academic presence, and raising our institute’s ranking in international rankings, Assistant Professor Dr. Hakim Hamoud Falih, a faculty member in the Department of Accounting Studies at the Post-graduate Institute of Accounting and Financial Studies, published a research paper in the journal Industrial Engineering & Management Systems, an international journal based in South Korea indexed in the Scopus database and ranked Q2 in the international rankings.
The research is titled:
“A Financial Examination of the Predicting of Fluctuations in the Price of Oil Using VECM and GARCH Models.”
The research focuses on the financial aspect of analyzing oil price fluctuations, given the direct impact this issue has on the preparation of general budgets, government revenue estimates, and the financial analysis of companies operating in the energy sector. The research also discusses how mathematical models can be used to support accounting and financial decision-making and develop accurate forecasts used to assess risks associated with oil markets. This achievement represents a qualitative addition to his research career and confirms the Institute’s position as a leading academic environment that supports innovation and scientific excellence in the fields of accounting and finance.
