Under the supervision of the Dean of the Post-graduate Institute of Accounting and Financial Studies, Chartered Accountant Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Mohammed Thajeel Al-Maamouri, and in cooperation between the consulting office and the Institute’s Continuing Education Unit, a course entitled “Auditing Current Accounts and Education Fund Accounts” was held in the Institute’s auditorium. The course was moderated and lectured by Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Sami Hasaballah, Head of the Construction and Projects Unit at the Institute. A number of faculty members and graduate students from the Institute participated in the course.
The course concluded that the function of internal audit is limited to a set of audit procedures for financial transactions before and after disbursement, with the goal of protecting the assets of the economic unit. However, this view quickly began to change due to a number of new factors, contributing to the development of the concept of internal auditing to increase attention to project service to achieve its objectives effectively and efficiently.
