Under the patronage of the Dean of the Post-graduate Institute of Accounting and Financial Studies, Chartered Accountant Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Muhammad Thajil Al-Maamouri, the Consulting Office at the Institute held a training course entitled “Auditing Current Accounts and Higher Education Fund Accounts.” This course was part of the training courses delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Sami Hasaballah, Lecturer Dr. Hisham Daoud Salman, and Assistant Lecturer Heba Mahmoud at the Institute. The course ran from June 16-19, 2025.
The course aimed to introduce auditing procedures for financial transactions before and after disbursement, with the goal of protecting the assets of the economic unit. However, this view quickly began to change due to a number of new factors that intertwined to contribute to the development of the concept of internal auditing and to transform its image into a function serving the institution as a whole, rather than merely serving management. These activities are classified within the environmental and sustainability objectives of achieving Goal (16) of promoting healthy and inclusive societies and building effective and accountable institutions at all levels.
