Under the supervision of the Dean of the Post-graduate Institute of Accounting and Financial Studies, Chartered Accountant Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Muhammad Thajil Al-Maamouri, the Women’s Affairs Unit at the Institute held a campaign titled “Civil Defense Training Campaign” in the Institute’s auditorium. The campaign was moderated by Assistant Professor Nofal Ghazi Zaghir, and lecturers included Engineer Kazem Jawad Kazem, Engineer Mu’ayyad Mohsen Muhammad, Mr. Saad Mahmoud Alwan, and Mr. Hamza Khalaf Muhammad from the Military Industrialization Authority/General Military Industries Company/Al-Rabi’ Factory. A number of faculty members and graduate students from the Institute participated in the campaign.
The campaign addressed four main themes: the first, Civil Defense, its definition, objectives, tasks, and types of hazards; the second, Fire Safety, including common causes of fires, prevention methods, and the classification and types of fire extinguishers; the third, Evacuation and Emergencies, including actions to take in the event of a fire alarm, evacuation plans, safe escape routes, and management of internal emergency teams; and the fourth, First Aid, including dealing with burns, fractures, suffocation, and fainting. The campaign also included a live demonstration of extinguishing fires using extinguishers and a simulated emergency evacuation. These activities are categorized within the environmental and sustainability objectives in achieving Goal (3) of ensuring a healthy life and well-being for all at all ages.
