The General Company for Iraqi Ports in Basra Governorate received a delegation from the University of Baghdad / Post-graduate Institute for Accounting and Financial Studies / Consulting Office, headed by Assistant Professor Dr. Muhammad Abdullah Ibrahim, Head of the Accounting Studies Department at the Institute, and including Lecturer Dr. Dunya Jalil Jaafar, Head of the Higher Education Fund Unit; Lecturer Dr. Hisham Dawood Salman, Head of the Pre-Disbursement Audit Unit; Assistant Lecturer Nawfal Ghazi Zaghir, Head of the Financial Data and Records Audit Unit; and Ms. Nagham Najm Abdullah, Head of the Financial Affairs Division at the Institute. The visit was for the purpose of conducting field experience and organizing a training course for employees of the General Company for Iraqi Ports, from August 3, 2025, to August 7, 2025.
The course covered several key topics, most notably: the unified accounting system amended in accordance with international standards for accounting and financial reporting, in addition to topics such as accounting policies, adjustments to accounting estimates, and the treatment of accounting errors.
